THE WONDER THAT IS CALLED BEESWAX

What is it?

Beeswax is a natural substance produced by honeybees. It's created by worker bees within the hive to construct honeycomb cells where they store honey and raise their young. Beeswax is secreted from glands on the bee's abdomen and then chewed and shaped into hexagonal cells within the hive. It's a unique material known for its sweet scent, beautiful golden color, and versatility. Beeswax has been used for centuries in various applications, including candle making, cosmetics, woodworking, and even art. It's prized for its clean-burning properties and ability to emit a warm, honey-like fragrance when melted, making it a popular choice for handmade candles.

MAKING BEESWAX CANDLES

Harvesting: Collecting beeswax by removing honeycomb frames from the hive and carefully extracting the wax caps using heat or mechanical methods.

Filtering: The harvested beeswax is melted and filtered to remove impurities such as pollen, propolis, and debris, resulting in clean, refined wax.

Molding or Pouring: Once purified, the beeswax is poured into molds or containers to create candles of various shapes and sizes. As well as hand-rolled to beeswax sheets around wicks to make taper or pillar candles.

Decorating (depening on type): Beeswax candles can be embellished with natural dyes, essential oils, or botanicals to enhance their beauty and fragrance.

Benefits of BEESWAX

Clean Burning: Beeswax candles burn cleanly and emit minimal smoke and soot compared to paraffin or other synthetic waxes, resulting in healthier indoor air quality.

Longevity: Beeswax candles have a longer burn time than many other candle types due to their high melting point and dense composition.

Natural Fragrance: When burned, beeswax releases a subtle, honey-like scent that adds warmth and ambiance to any space.

Non-Toxic: Beeswax is a natural, renewable resource that does not emit harmful chemicals when burned, making it a safe choice for people with sensitivities or allergies.
